Meet Marlene Hernandez, Your Accounting Geek
Welcome to Accounting Geeks! I’m Marlene Hernandez, a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida. My journey into the world of accounting began at Florida International University, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting, with a minor in Business Analytics and a specialization in Auditing.
With over 11 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, I’ve had the pleasure of working as an accounting director for a local construction company and as a senior accountant at a South Florida CPA firm. These roles provided me with invaluable experience in tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, auditing, payroll, and financial consulting.
I founded Accounting Geeks to offer small to midsize business owners a personalized CPA experience that allows them to focus on what they do best—growing their business. When I’m not crunching numbers, you can find me traveling, spending time with family, or enjoying a walk with my Mini Goldendoodle, Buddy.
